Bullock Family Tree

Both sides of the family, worked from primary records wherever I can get them: death certificates, wills, a family Bible, the diary. When a hint on Ancestry doesn't hold up, it doesn't go in the tree.

My dad's side · Bullock
c. 1633–1705

John Bullock

Came from England to Maryland in 1659 as an indentured servant and finished as a planter on land he called Hopewell.

1723–1782

James Bullock

Supplied the Revolutionary cause in North Carolina in 1779 and took the Oath of Allegiance. A proven patriot; the line below him is already vetted.

b. 1769

James Bullock and Mary Phillips

Granville County, North Carolina, and the generation that started the family toward Indiana.

1841–1914

Rev. James Madison Bullock

General Baptist minister in Warrick County, Indiana. “Pa” in the diary.

1880–1953

Gurley Madison Bullock

The diarist. From him the line runs to my grandfather James, to my dad, to me.

My mom's side · McKeever and Eaton
c. 1821–1896

Daniel McKeever and Sarah Shade

Born in Virginia, died in Hennessey, Oklahoma. Sarah's parents, Adam Shade and Betsey Hinckle, are where the trail currently ends.

1849–1917

Richard Lee McKeever and Sarah Catherine Crosen

Springfield, Ohio. His 1917 death certificate was the first primary source that pinned the line down.

1882–1960

Warren Emory McKeever and Carrie Andrews

Springfield, Ohio.

1894–1922

Walter Roland Eaton and Carrie Reames

The Eaton side. Walter died when my grandmother was nine months old.

1921–2004

Roger McKeever and Lois Eaton

My grandparents. From them to my mom, to me.

The trail stops honestly at John. The English gentry that FamilySearch offers above him has no sources behind it, so it isn't in the tree.
